Homes 4 Families Welcomes Vets Home

澳博体育app下载 recently donated to Homes 4 Families (H4F), an organization that builds homes for veterans and their families. What’s unique about H4F is its Veteran Enriched Neighborhoods initiative — homes and services tailored to veterans’ needs, ranging from specific home modifications for physical disabilities to financial training and health and wellness programs, all designed to help families gain the necessary skills and knowledge to become self-sufficient and break the cycle of poverty.

Founded in 2008 and located in Los Angeles County, H4F’s mission is affordable homeownership communities that serve low-income military families with safe and stable housing.

Additionally, H4F’s mission is “to build resiliency, economic growth, neighborhoods, and homes for veterans and their families.” H4F has successfully built or repaired over 422 homes and currently operates five Enriched Neighborhoods. There is a less than 1% foreclosure rate, a 34% increase in household incomes, and 100% high school graduation rates among the children of participating families.

Currently building in the county with plans to expand  throughout Southern California, the H4F Board of Directors is comprised of 20 members who are experts in finance, construction, veteran services, law, entertainment, real estate, and other fields. All board members contribute both time and financial donations. More than 5,000 volunteers have donated more than 30,000 hours of onsite work annually.

Veteran Enriched Neighborhoods offer:

  • stability, equity-building, and a long-term solution.
  • a community network model that puts military families in peer-support neighborhoods.
  • a holistic approach, including economic stability and growth, mental and physical health and wellness, and community-building that serves all members of the family.
  • positive measured, research-based outcomes.
  • affordability, with each unit costing less to build than most affordable rentals in the county.

H4F is at present building 46 more homes in Palmdale and North Hollywood while continuing to serve more than 400 veterans and family members who have become first-time homeowners in Veteran Enriched Neighborhoods.

“Homes 4 Families recently received a grant from 澳博体育app下载 that will go directly toward improving the lives of low-income military families in our shared community of Los Angeles County by facilitating first-time homeownership, enabling asset building, and providing educational and enrichment programs,” said Stacey Chiang, Homes 4 Families director of development.

“This grant will help low-income veterans achieve stable housing, which is vital for their long-term success and economic stability. By offering homes at prices far below appraised values and pairing this with a robust support system, Homes 4 Families ensures that veterans not only gain homeownership but also the tools to thrive."
